Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional individuals with either a background in mental health/general/learning disability or midwifery or with social work experience, to support the expansion of the clinical vulnerabilities team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The postholder will play a pivotal role in the care and support of individuals who may be at risk of abuse, in addition to supporting the overarching strategy to facilitate a trauma informed approach within the organisation.



This is an exciting opportunity, to work in a new and developing service, working closely with the Director of Nursing for Safeguarding and Vulnerable people, our newly appointed Lead Nurse for Vulnerabilities, Associate Director of Nursing for Mental Health and other senior safeguarding/vulnerability leads, the postholder will collaborate closely with operational teams and support the delivery of a coherent trauma informed vulnerabilities service across all sites within the Trust.

The successful post holder will possess excellent communication and leadership skills and the ability to make judgements on and to manage a complex case load. To support the ongoing development of the vulnerability service, ensuring all services are responsive, innovative, and provided to the highest possible standards, reducing any variation in quality



To provide support and advice to staff in clinical areas providing care, in relation to all aspects of vulnerability, in collaboration with senior subject matter experts, support the advocacy service provided by the clinical vulnerabilities team. Work collaboratively with key partners and stakeholders in the implementation of pathway improvements for patients at increased risk of vulnerability



To support in the delivery of specific projects and programmes, engaging with stakeholders and clinical colleagues. Projects will relate to specific area of expertise, however, may also relate to any aspect of vulnerability within the portfolio (including but not limited to, violence reduction and restrictive practice, trauma informed care, mental health, safeguarding, social work, end of life care



To identify issues and problem solve, support the implementation of lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical colleagues and other teams across safeguarding, vulnerability and mental health provider



Support with the assessment and implementation of trauma informed approaches across the Trust, in line with National Guidance and provide expert nursing advice and support across the organisation.
