Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service in a fast-paced, fine dining environment, ensuring each guest has a memorable dining experience. This role requires a strong focus on food and beverage service, guest relations, and maintaining high standards of sanitation and food safety. Previous restaurant experience and familiarity with POS systems are highly valued to provide seamless service from seating to bill settlement.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables, providing menus and answering initial questions about the menu offerings. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely communication with the kitchen and bar staff. Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness. Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities. Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and processing payments through POS systems like OpenTable or other restaurant software. Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations by bussing tables and assisting with sanitation procedures. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure food safety standards are met during food handling and preparation. Provide excellent guest services by addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction. Assist in setting up dining areas for service, including arranging tables and chairs as needed for special events or large parties. Support other team members during busy periods or special events such as nightclub nights or private functions.

Skills

Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments; fine dining experience is a plus. Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; experience with OpenTable is advantageous. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours. Ability to upsell menu items effectively while maintaining genuine guest relations. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Basic math skills for cashiering, cash handling, and bill calculations. Experience in food preparation or kitchen operations is beneficial but not required. Ability to work night shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
