Welcome to Sonder, your new neighbourhood bistro inspired by travel. This is a new, independent restaurant based in the Canton / Pontcanna area.
Sonder has a chef owner, who has a passion for hospitality, having worked in professional kitchens for over 13 years. We are looking to add into this small but experienced core team that already exists. We really value having fun at work, and believe the vibe runs through the restaurant and resonates with our guests.
We believe in premium service and ingredients, but are dedicated to making a relaxed and welcoming vibe. Sonder is about the people- both our employees and our guests. All of our food is made in house, alongside in house butchery and baking.

The front of house head waiter/supervisor role with include the following responsibilities:
- Learning new dishes with a menu that changes seasonally.
- Being able to turn up on time and follow uniform standards.
- Being attentive and pro-active.
- Being positive on a daily basis.
- Having a strong personality and being able to multi task / not be flustered when busy.
- Have experience working in a fast pace enviroment.
- Have experience eating out at restaurants (understand what makes good service / what you potentially don't enjoy in other restaurants that you can make sure doesn't come into your service!)
- Be confident, having a genuine interest in people will be a big plus for you for this job.
- Become the face of the business and help create great customer relations, helping to build relationships with regular guests.
- Being a team player and helping with close downs, jumping on other sections such as glass wash, polishing glasses, helping on the door if needed, running drinks & food.
