Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients as directed by the chef. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are met at all times. Support the serving staff by preparing and plating dishes for service. Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager. Engage with guests when necessary, providing excellent guest services and upselling menu items where appropriate. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods, demonstrating effective time management skills.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices are advantageous. Strong time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, with a focus on guest services and teamwork. Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and managing inventory effectively.
