Working in one of our nurturing and therapeutic homes, you will help create a calm, safe, and sensory-aware environment where children feel secure, supported, and comforted while they rest. You'll monitor children's wellbeing, respond to any needs that arise, and offer emotional reassurance throughout the night.

Your responsibilities will include supporting with bedtime routines, carrying out regular welfare and room checks, attending to personal or medical needs, and maintaining clear records of any incidents or observations. You will also complete domestic tasks to ensure the home is clean, organised, and ready for the day ahead.

This role is ideal for someone who is naturally calm, alert, and nurturing, with the ability to work independently and respond to children's needs in a trauma-informed and person-centred way.

4. Follow individual care plans, risk assessments, and sleep protocols to ensure personalised, safe support.

5. Use appropriate communication methods (e.g., Makaton, PECS) and respect each child's unique way of expressing needs.

6. Carry out regular welfare and room checks, reporting any concerns in line with safeguarding policy.

7. Complete domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and preparing breakfast or education materials for the following day.

8. Ensure the home is clean, safe, secure, and ready for both children and incoming staff.

9. Administer medication (if trained) and carry out accurate counts of medication, petty cash, valuables, and sharps at the start and end of shift.

10. Maintain clear, detailed records and deliver structured handovers to ensure continuity of care.

11. Uphold high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory compliance at all times.
