We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to join our team as a Night Wake Residential Support Worker working in a 4 bedded Children's Residential Home in Harrow. Our home work with children and young people with a background in EBD, aged 9-17 on admission. You will be joining an established and experienced care team. You will provide support for the children and young people in the home to promote their independence and well-being whilst providing a therapeutic care environment. Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals that may be involved in our young people's care.

As Waking Night Residential Support Worker you will be involved in the direct day to day support of young people aged 9 to 17, joining in with activities, coaching on life skills, helping with homework and being a positive role model. You will also complete detailed records, write reports and assist with the general upkeep of the home, inclusive of health and safety checks and domestic responsibilities. Key working for one or two of the young people will be expected.

Applicants should have:

Experience of working with Children and Young People. Awareness of issues facing young people such as bullying, gangs and sexual exploitation. Knowledge of relevant laws and procedures relating to safeguarding young people. Have high personal and professional standards. Flexibility to undertake shift working including weekends and bank holidays, and occasional sleep-ins. Have the ability to build genuine and trusting relationships and real passion for working with Young People. Key Duties:

Ensuring the motivation and morale of the children and staff team Building community links and ensuring the service is meeting the best interests and safeguarding requirements of the children To ensure that Health and Safety policies/ legislation is consistently followed, risk assessments are regularly and promptly updated and the home is maintained to a high standard. A range of ad-hoc duties to ensure the highest quality experience for the children being cared.
Key Requirements:

CAR Minimum of 1 year in children's residential care DRIVER - ESSENTIAL. Full clean licence required Have an understanding of Ofsted regulations NVQ Level 3 in children and young people in residential care Experience and understanding of EBD and challenging behaviour Desirable - Proven and effective leadership and management skills Sensitive, empathic approach with resilient nature Reflective and reflexive practice Excellent interpersonal skills A passion for supporting vulnerable children and a commitment to ensuring best practice IT Literate
Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm

Pay: 13.00-15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 36 per week
