We provide support and care to children, families and adults across Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, Surrey and the London Borough of Bexley. Our services include registered care homes; supported living; community outreach; day services, including pathways to employment; children and young people's groups and support; specialist support; and free online support for families and carers across the South-East.
About the Role:
Bluejay is supported living for individuals who require higher levels of specialised support.
There are two attached one bedroom homes
There are 2 distinct living areas within the house with their own bedroom, living room and kitchen
There is no communal space
There are 2 waking night staff
Sometimes the people we support find it difficult to communicate effectively so our staff need to be prepared to deal with complex and distressed behaviours on occasion; this might include physically supporting them to keep themselves and others safe from harm.
Quality of life is always our main focus so we actively encourage our staff to build up rapport with the people we support through shared fun activities. We have found that when people have a common interest they are more likely to build trusting and enjoyable relationships. Out Specialist PBS Team will support with the development of goals and behaviour plans, always focusing on the strength of the individuals and progressing towards independence.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Supporting service users with administration of medication and maintaining records.
Providing personal care and supporting nutritional needs.
Confident lone working and contributing within a wider team.
Maintaining cleanliness and completing laundry and ironing duties during the night.
Delivering individualised care based on personal care plans.
Conducting and recording night checks.
Completing reports such as night reports, seizure forms, and fridge/freezer temperature logs.
Assisting with moving and handling tasks overnight.
Maintaining observation logs for effective communication.
Collaborating with families and professionals for care continuity.
Monitoring and reporting health concerns or changes.
Attending required training, supervision sessions and staff meetings.
Adhering to all policies and completing required documentation.
General Responsibilities:
Adhere to safeguarding rules and regulations, respecting the Charity's duty to protect its service users and staff in equal measure.
Monitor and maintain a safe working environment and working practices at all times, reporting any health and safety issues or risks to the Charity's health & safety point of contact.
Work as a positive team member, devoting full time and attention at work to the duties of your role and adhering to the Charity's policies and procedures at all times.
Behave in a professional manner at all times, reflecting and maintaining the Charity's core values, charitable aims and objectives, generating a positive image of the Charity to all stakeholders.
