Waking Night Support Worker
to join our team in a therapeutic children's home in Irthlingborough.
About the Role:
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and emotional well-being of children during the night. This includes maintaining a calm, supportive environment, attending to individual needs, and following nightly routines. You'll work as part of a close-knit team to provide consistency and structure for children who have experienced trauma, neglect, or emotional difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a safe, supportive presence throughout the night
Respond appropriately to the needs of the children, including emotional support and personal care if required
Maintain detailed records and handovers
Carry out household tasks and ensure the home is secure and clean
Work collaboratively with the daytime care team to support individual care plans
Requirements:
Previous experience in residential childcare or a similar support role preferred
NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
Resilient, calm, and able to manage challenging behaviour
Excellent communication and observation skills
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
