We are seeking a dedicated Waking Night support worker to oversee operations at one of our Childrens homes properties in SHEFFIELD. It will sometimes involve lone working, or you will have another support staff with you. The provision is 3 four-bed accommodations local to Sheffield city center. You will be assigned to work at one of these. night time hours are 21:30-8am
Responsibilities
Maintain the safety of the young people in the home overnight
Monitor surveillance if any young people are leaving or coming home late you will be responsible for getting in contact with them and making sure they are safe
liaising with different agencies, i,e police NHS and social workers and giving them regular updates on the childs progress
auditing all relevant documentation and making sure staff have completed all notes to a high standard
Spend 1-1 time with the young people at night and provide emotional support
Handing over to the morning team on anything that needs to be chased up during the day
Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors as needed during night hours.
Experience
Previous experience in a children's home setting and working with children and adolescents with mental health or other complex comorbidities
Strong observational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with a strong sense of responsibility.
Familiarity with security systems and protocols is advantageous but not mandatory.
