Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tiles in various settings, ensuring high-quality finishes and durability. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial buildings, contributing to the realisation of clients' visions with precision and craftsmanship. Applicants should possess a strong understanding of construction processes and be comfortable working with various tools and schematics.

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying suitable substrates for tile installation. Measure and mark layout lines according to project specifications using chalk lines, levels, and other tools. Cut tiles accurately using hand tools such as tile cutters, saws, or power tools to fit designated spaces. Lay tiles in accordance with schematics or design plans, ensuring proper alignment and spacing. Apply adhesive or mortar evenly and set tiles securely to achieve a professional finish. Grout joints between tiles, ensuring a smooth and consistent appearance. Maintain a clean work environment by removing debris and excess materials regularly. Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters or construction painters to ensure seamless project progress. Inspect completed work for quality assurance and make necessary adjustments or repairs.

Requirements

Proven experience in construction, specialising in tiling installation. Proficiency with hand tools such as tile cutters, trowels, chisels, and levels. Knowledge of carpentry principles relevant to surface preparation and framing. Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, or technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with construction painting techniques is advantageous but not essential. Experience operating power tools safely and effectively within a construction environment. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure precise work standards. Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods. Reliable team player with excellent communication skills.
