Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining tiles in various settings, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial, contributing to the realisation of aesthetically pleasing and durable surfaces.

Responsibilities

Measure and mark surfaces to determine layout and tile placement according to schematics and project plans Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and applying appropriate adhesives or mortar Cut tiles accurately using hand tools or power tools to fit edges, corners, and around fixtures Install tiles on floors, walls, and ceilings with precision, ensuring proper alignment and spacing Grout and seal tiles to complete the installation process, maintaining a clean finish Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to ensure correct installation procedures Assist with related tasks such as construction painting or carpentry as required on-site Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations

Skills

Proven experience in construction with a focus on tiling or similar trades Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and measuring tapes Familiarity with power tools including tile cutters, drills, and saws Strong understanding of schematics and technical drawings for accurate installation Knowledge of construction painting and carpentry is advantageous but not essential Ability to interpret project plans and follow detailed instructions with precision Organised with excellent attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions for extended periods
