Job Description

Life Works, located in Woking, Surrey, is a highly respected private rehabilitation centre with a unique therapeutic environment, leading the way in addiction and eating disorder treatment. We treat up to 18 low risk private patients for addictions and eating disorders in a Georgian house surrounded by beautiful gardens. We are easily accessible from the A3 and M25 and a 30 min walk from Woking Train station. In addition, we also have "The Cottage" a unique private enviroment for Clients to use for their treatment".



Our evidence-based programme uses a combination of group and individual therapies and incorporates experiential elements to help people start the process of treating their Eating Disorder or Addiction in a safe and supportive environment. Our goal is to always treat the individual and ensure we support our clients on their personal journey..

In this role, you will be line managed by the Director of Clinical Services who is the Senior Manager directly overseeing all clinical aspects of the site. You will have clinical and managerial oversite for a small group of Nurses and HealthCare Assistants.



The role would be supernumary and ideally 9-5pm Monday-Friday but we are open to some flexibility on this. Being a small site that is therapeutically led, the Nursing staffing ladders at site for a shift are one Nurse with 1-2 Health Care assistants (depending on acuity/admissions).



Duties to include



Being responsible for complete operational management of the site in regards to the Nursing Team.

Day to day oversight of staffing, resources, roster management and workforce planning.

Provide supervision, professional development and promotion of staff well-being.

Participates with the "on call" responsibility working within a rotational basis, alongside SMT colleagues.

Providing a high standard of care to people with Addictions and ED.

Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement.

Following all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice.

Contributing to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress.

Recruitment of Nursing Team and potential involvement with other SMT recruitment.

Rota management.

Clinical Governance contribution.



3+ years Nursing experience



Experience working with Eating Disorder and Addictions is desirable

Extensive clinical and management experience

Fine tuned decision making skills

Effective organisational capability

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Enthusiastic and motivated with a strong "can do" attitude

A role model to other staff - providing advice and support to promote good practice

Encourage team members to expand, develop their own competencies

Strong ability to work under pressure is essential
