A leading hospital in Dewsbury is seeking an experienced and dynamic
Ward Manager (RMN/ RNLD)
to oversee day-to-day operations on one of our wards. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, managing multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that our clinical, safety, and regulatory standards are consistently met. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with strong leadership capabilities to contribute to patient care excellence and drive improvements in a busy hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
Lead, mentor, and support a diverse team of nurses and healthcare professionals.
Oversee staff rotas, performance evaluations, and professional development.
Patient Care & Clinical Governance:
Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care in accordance with hospital protocols, CQC standards, and clinical governance frameworks.
Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Operational Management:
Manage day-to-day ward operations, including resource allocation and administrative duties.
Liaise effectively with other departments, ensuring seamless communication and continuity of care.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure strict adherence to hospital policies, health & safety regulations, and legal requirements.
Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and staff training sessions as necessary.
Stakeholder Communication:
Act as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and external agencies.
Address issues and escalations promptly to maintain a high level of patient and staff satisfaction.
Requirements:
Active registration as an
RMN (Registered Mental Nurse)
or
RNLD (Registered Nurse Licensed in the UK)
Proven experience in a nursing management or leadership role within a hospital setting
Excellent clinical and operational skills, with the ability to lead teams effectively
Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
A commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and upholding the highest standards of clinical governance
