Ward Manager / Senior Nurse

Location: Ayr, West Central Scotland

Salary: \xc2\xa343,000 per annum - \xc2\xa348,393

Hours: Full Time and Part Time hours available

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced RMN and RNLD to take on the lead role as Ward Manager within a warm and welcoming low secure Hospital. Supporting Males and Females with Mental Illness and/or Personality disorders, located in the coastal town of Ayr in the West Central Scotland.

A low secure service, spread across 3 wards:

12 bedded male admissions unit

12 bedded female admissions unit

12 bedded mixed gender rehabilitation unit

The role of Ward Manager will play a pivotal part within the Gatehouse.

Job role:

Being responsible for complete operational management of the site.

Day to day oversight of staffing, resources, roster management and workforce planning.

Provide supervision, professional development and promotion of staff well-being.

Participates with the "on call" responsibility working within a rotational basis, alongside other senior nurse colleagues.

Providing a high standard of care to people with Mental illness and Personality disorder

Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement

Following all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice

Contributing to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress

At a more senior level, you will also need to lead shifts as well as mentoring and supporting student nurses and other members of the team
