Role Title: Warehouse Assistant

Reports to: Operations Manager

Wentwood serve across 3 industries from domestic interiors, commercial interiors & events.

Wentwood are designers & producers of joinery products from our 500m2 manufacturing facility, including design studio, machine shop, assembly & spray booths. We are a busy team and are We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operations Assistant to support day-to-day logistics and materials handling in a busy carpentry manufacturing environment. The role is hands-on and varied, requiring someone with a good understanding of workshop operations, stock control, and a strong commitment to health and safety. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth workflow across production, dispatch, and delivery processes.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Goods In/Out: Receive deliveries and check them against purchase orders for accuracy. Safely unload and store raw materials, fixings, sheet timber, and manufactured items. Prepare finished goods for dispatch, ensuring packaging and documentation are correct. Stock Control: Monitor stock levels and notify operations teams of low inventory. Organise and maintain accurate inventory records. Conduct regular stock checks and audits. Operate the CMS & Project software systems Workshop Support: Move materials and components between departments (e.g., from warehouse to workshop). Assist joiners or site crews in loading/unloading for site installations. Keep workshop and storage areas tidy, clear, and organised. Attend team meetings Support project delivery team Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety procedures, including manual handling and use of PPE. Report hazards or incidents promptly. Ensure clear walkways and safe storage of materials. Logistics & Scheduling Support: Assist in booking deliveries and collections with couriers or in-house drivers. Support project and site teams by coordinating material availability. Tool & Equipment Checks: Maintain basic tools register and ensure warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet trucks, forklifts) is in working condition. Report any faults or maintenance needs.
Required skills for a Project Support role:

To be successful in this role, you should exhibit experience in Warehouse operative experience, minimum of 3 years. Be process driven, controlled under pressure and importantly a team player for the delivery of a very demanding sector of manufacturing. The ability to multi-task in a complex and demanding environment and have the ability to build and maintain highly effective working relationships with a range of people (both internally and externally).

Previous warehouse or workshop experience (ideally within joinery, carpentry, or construction) Valid forklift license (desirable but not essential). Good organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials safely. Familiarity with basic IT systems or warehouse software (preferred). Training on company systems will be given Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Problem-solving and decision-making abilities The ability to effectively take direction and work both collaboratively and autonomously A penchant for details and organisation, including the ability to prioritise tasks, communicate progress and meet deadlines

Pay: 13.46-14.55 per hour
