Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role involves various tasks related to the handling of materials, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and dispatched accurately and efficiently. A background in warehouse operations is preferred, along with experience in using warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

Operate manual forklifts safely and efficiently for loading and unloading goods. Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock movements. Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse. Perform picking and packing duties to prepare orders for shipping. Assist in shipping and receiving activities, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations. Engage in heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury. Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve operational efficiency. Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in stocking shelves as needed. Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues when necessary.

Qualifications

Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with materials handling techniques is essential. Strong mechanical knowledge will be beneficial for equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently throughout the shift. Knowledge of construction processes can be an asset in understanding material handling requirements. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in picking, packing, and inventory management. Ability to work on own initiative without supervision. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
