The Dormant Distillery Company operate one of the worlds leading Whisky Specialist retailers and wholesalers, Royal Mile Whiskies. Founded in 1998, the company also run a specialist tobacconist on the Royal Mile The Cigar Box and in 2011 opened two specialist Drinks retail shops in Edinburgh and Pitlochry Drinkmonger with the vision to provide the most comprehensive range of quality alcohol products in Scotland.


Along with their online business through www.royalmilewhiskies.com and www.drinkmonger.com, the company have also developed a wholesale business, supplying the on-trade across Scotland and beyond.

The Role

Warehouse Assistant -

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mile Whiskies and Drinkmonger in our Warehouse team, based in Loanhead (close to Straiton Retail Park). We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to assist with the stock management and logistics within a busy and fast-growing business. The position will mostly cover inventory control (managing stock and stock movements) and potentially some picking and packing of orders, along with some van deliveries. The role is ideally full-time (40 hours per week), but we are also happy to accept applications for part-time work.

Job Requirements

Able to meet the physical demands of the role manual handling is required. A strong attention to detail. Effectively manage workload. A basic knowledge of spirits, wines, and beers would be useful. A willingness to learn is essential. Good communication skills. A clean UK driving licence is preferred to assist with van deliveries. Basic IT skills to use emails and operate the company stock management system.

Responsibilities

Assisting with loading and unloading of deliveries to and from the warehouse. Moving and storing products in the correct warehouse areas. Assisting with stock control, using company stock management systems. Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules, and schedules. Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods. Assisting with equipment maintenance and ensuring the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and secure. Some van driving may be required to assist with deliveries and stock transfers. Some picking and packing of sales orders and ensuring high levels of accuracy.

Additional Info, Salary, and Benefits

This is a permanent, full-time post. We are offering an hourly rate of 12.60.


Our operating hours are 9:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may be required.
