Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Warehouse Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic logistics environment, contributing to the efficient movement of goods and materials. Prior warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are advantageous, and candidates must be comfortable with heavy lifting and operating warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. Assist with stock organisation, stocking shelves, and maintaining accurate inventory records using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as AS400. Perform picking and packing of orders accurately to meet shipping deadlines. Support shipping and receiving processes by preparing items for dispatch and verifying incoming deliveries against purchase orders. Handle materials with care, ensuring proper handling techniques to prevent damage or injury. Operate mechanical equipment safely, including forklifts and other warehouse machinery. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment within the warehouse area. Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow efficiency and meet operational targets.

Skills

Proven experience in warehouse operations, including stock management, shipping & receiving, and materials handling. Proficiency in operating forklifts; certification is preferred but not mandatory if willing to undergo training. Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems such as AS400 or similar platforms. Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance or repair is a plus. Strong physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and manual handling activities. Good organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate stock control and order fulfilment. Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of construction or related trades is advantageous for specialised handling tasks.
