We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Assistant Manager to join our team. In this role, you will assist in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient processes and effective management of resources. You will play a key role in optimising warehouse performance, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the overall supply chain strategy.
Responsibilities
To ensure that all employees are maximising their potential and delivering the required performance levels in line with KPI's
To ensure that company standards are always adhered to, such as presentation of staff, attitude of staff, attendance, compliance with all policies and procedures
To be flexible in terms of working hours including weekend work on a rota basis
To communicate appropriately across all levels of business. Timely, accurate and professional responses to internal and external customers/partners and proactive outbound communication.
Problem solving - root cause analysis, continuous review of processes to ensure efficiency
To take full ownership of attendance, performing Return to Work Meetings and dealing with any further action regarding absence
To support the Warehouse Manager in developing your team, including the identification and delivery of training needs
To support the Warehouse Manager with ensuring that full and proper inductions take place, to further support new starters through training and probation reviews.
To support the Warehouse Manager in terms of your teams' progress. Support performance reviews to ensure completion and documentation of follow up meetings when required such as action plans
To support with the disciplinary process if required.
To support the Warehouse Manager with twice yearly stock takes.
To ensure compliance of company policies and procedures, particularly around health and safety.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a warehouse environment, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
Previous supervisory experience is essential, demonstrating leadership capabilities within a team setting.
Strong knowledge of shipping & receiving protocols, as well as experience with process improvement methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to operate MHE safely and effectively; relevant certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
