We are now seeking a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Assistant to join our team in mid-March, who will provide cover when required as a multi-drop Delivery Driver. Your main responsibilities will be working within the main warehouse operations, for which you will be enthusiastic, diligent, self-motivated and a pro-active team player, committed to successfully achieving personal goals and objectives as well as supporting those of the warehouse manager and the Company. You will need to be adaptable and willing to provide last-minute cover as a delivery driver, for which you will need a good knowledge of the motorway network across the North. Our York depot covers the West to East coast from the top of the Midlands as far up as Alnwick and everything in between.

You will need excellent knowledge of warehouse operating processes and experience working in a warehouse environment. You will need experience with multi-drop deliveries and will provide exceptional customer service: you will be delivering to premium bars, restaurants, hotels and more. Our drivers are our ambassadors.

We understand that you have a life and commitments outside of work, so we offer permanent Monday to Friday, 40 hour week contracts (no overnights). You may be required to work on Bank Holidays, for which you will receive payment or time off in lieu for these days. The working pattern is Monday to Tuesday, 8:30 - 17:30 and Friday 7:00 - 16:00, with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

Driver and software training may be carried out at our York depot. Uniform is provided and you are expected to maintain a clean and tidy delivery vehicle.

Skills and Experience Required

Knowledge of warehouse operating processes/willing to learn. Such as picking, checking and palletising bottles Positive, can do attitude, and ability to work using own initiative Health and Safety in a warehouse environment Strong knowledge of the North road network and experience delivering into the service industry is essential Good experience of being a multi drop driver Excellent oral communication and time management skills essential Exceptional customer service skills, polite, helpful and positive attitude Ability to carry cases of wine which on average weigh 15kg Valid UK driver's licence (due to our insurance policy this must be a UK driving licence) Forklift licence is desirable
