We have a great opportunity within the Logistics Team for a Warehouse Coordinator. You will proactively support the team in all aspects of inbound materials for production, be a driving force of the wider team objective for Lean Manufacturing, meeting the set KPI individually and supporting the wider team working from the Factory location of Dalston.
We have an exciting opportunity that is part of the driving force of our mission, reporting directly to our Area Manager, working with peers within the Nestle family, putting the consumer at the heart of everything we do. Nestlé Dalston Factory in Cumbria is the European Centre for cappuccino and creamers producing a range of beverage products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. It is continually developing and expanding leading brands such as Nescafé Frothy Coffee, Azera, Aero Hot Chocolate and Coffeemate.
A day in the life of...
Key responsibilities include:
Daily support to the shift warehouse teams in all aspects of inbound materials
for production. Ensuring the inbound process is rigidly followed and samples taken, recorded and provided to the lab for positive release.
Keeping the warehouse admin database up to date, inputting data, which will support the department during audits. Periodically tidy up the data, add and delete files as instructed by the logistics manager.
Inform QA and our site planners of all non-compliance on the delivery-booking sheet, highlighting potential production shortfalls. Detailing wrong delivery amounts to avoid blocked invoices, gaining a full understanding of the invoicing process.
Control of the recycling and waste disposal for site. Coordinating the booking of waste compactors and skips from our waste provider. Having a robust system which supports always having availability of receptacles for all site waste. Control of hazardous waste returns, working closely with the site waste and environmental manager.
Operating skills – maintenance of own operational skills to allow optimal operation of the department on a daily basis. Coaching and informal training of others to ensure the skills in the department are standard and optimised effectively.
Lead GMP for the department, responsible for compartment checks data.
Supporting operators in completion of GMP related tasks, delivering KPI targets.
Work - individually or as part of a team, to resolve problems and issues. Engage the assistance of senior operators, lead operators or the department manager, to tackle complex challenges. Looking to improve all aspects of performance within the department, using the relevant NCE tools.
Support the team with problem solving activities, using the GSTD tool and recognised as the department expert.
Health and Safety – To work safely and maintain a safe and healthy working environment. Adhering to the Site Safety Rules, ensuring the safety of all site personnel, challenging any unsafe act.
Quality – To participate in the investigation and resolution of quality challenges; carry out all QMS checks, adhering to set inbound / outbound standards. Highlight any non-conformance and segregate contaminated/damaged product, eliminating the risk of further product
What will make you successful
This is a management level role into the business ideally you will already have some fantastic exposure to manufacturing / distribution and logistics under your belt.
You will have:
Proven track record with Warehouse and logistic movements
Ability to evidence the leading people with examples of success
Qualifications/ Courses in Lean Management would be an advantage
