IPS is a leading technical supplier to the events industry - there aren't many major events without a bit of our equipment involved somewhere! IPS works in three key business areas: Staging & Structures, Technical Production and Trade Hire. Within each of these areas, projects involve Staging, Rigging, Lighting, Sound, Video and Power Equipment, which forms the majority of the IPS hire inventory. Working for IPS will provide an opportunity to be involved with a variety of exciting projects, from supplying staging for a local school play to a providing full technical production for an outdoor music festival. IPS is a rapidly evolving company, and there are excellent opportunities for development within the operation.

The Full Time Warehouse Lighting Technician role will be based at our busy Milton Keynes warehouse. Reporting to the Head of Lighting. This role requires the applicant to have good communication skills and be a team player. IPS regularly works all over the UK, and correctly prepared and dispatched equipment is vital to successful service delivery. IPS is looking for someone who is proactive flexible and energetic.

Role



Working with the rest of the warehouse team, equipment must be prepared, dispatched, returned and maintained in a timely manner to exacting standards.

To service, maintain and prepare equipment efficiently and to the highest possible standards

Check equipment in and out using Hiretrack software.

Responsibility for advanced maintenance, including software and firmware upgrades, periodic moving light maintenance and service

Inspect all equipment to ensure compliance with relevant statutory regulations, including PAT testing

Notify the Head of Lighting of shortages and damages of equipment or consumable items at the earliest opportunity

Maintain Lighting Department and work areas in a clean and orderly state.

Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as directed by the Head of Lighting based upon the changing needs of the business

To identify and undertake appropriate training and development as agreed with the Head of Lighting

To Maintain Strict confidentiality at all times

Essential Requirements



You must have a background within the events industry (minimum 4 years), and a good awareness of the equipment within our inventory, specifically lighting

A good knowledge of lighting control systems and protocols, advanced knowledge of ArtNet, SACN & MA Net would be desirable, but not essential

A good knowledge of intelligent lighting fixtures and generic fixtures, advanced knowledge of moving light maintenance would be desirable, but not essential

You must always work safely and methodically, with a high level of attention to detail and awareness of task timescales

You must be physically fit and able to perform manual tasks, specifically loading and unloading vehicles and moving equipment around our warehouse

You must be happy working both individually and as part of a team, have a flexible attitude to working hours, and be willing to work across all departments

You must be able to communicate in verbal and written English, with appropriate maths skills for accurate stock management

Passport and Eligibility to work in the UK

Beneficial Abilities:



Forklift Licence would be desirable, but is not essential

Administrative skills including use of Microsoft Office applications will be required. Previous experience of Hiretrack software, would be desirable, but not essential

Benefits:



As a full-time employee, your salary will be dependent on experience and will be based on a 42.5 hour working week, paid monthly on the last working day of the month. IPS is a Real Living Wage Employer. Overtime may be required and will be paid after completion of the standard 42.5 hours. IPS has free onsite parking.

IPS offers 20 days paid annual leave, plus bank holidays. This will increase to 22 days after two years' service and will increase by one day for each year completed up to a maximum of 25 days. Statutory sick pay and enhanced maternity/paternity benefits will be payable as appropriate.

IPS regularly provides training to employees as appropriate and will help staff wishing to gain skills in areas helpful to the business, including forklift license courses, and product specific training. IPS will provide safety boots and gloves, as well as branded T-Shirts and jackets which form the workplace uniform.

IPS offers private health care to all staff with two years' service through Vitality Health. All staff with under two years' service will have access to Vitality at work.

IPS hold regular staff social events such as a Christmas Celebration and End of Summer Staff BBQ, individual team nights out.

Schedule:



Day shifts - between the hours of 06:00 hrs and 20.00 hrs

Overtime is required during peak periods
