We're looking for a Warehouse Operations Manager to drive outstanding service delivery and build a strong health & safety culture across all areas of our operation. In this crucial role, you'll lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring KPIs and both operational and financial targets are consistently achieved. You'll play a key part in aligning our processes with business goals and customer expectations while supporting customer relationship management in collaboration with the General Manager.




This role is based at our Erith site (DA18 4AF) and offers a salary of 46,000 per annum. You will work Monday to Friday between 05:00 and 17:00 and cover night shifts quarterly.

Key responsibilities


Ensure that the YLUK Erith site complies with all relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures. Fostering a strong health and safety culture following correct reporting and investigation processes. Manage the recruitment, selection, training, and development of YLUK employees, encouraging them to lead the site team by example. Focus on team development to ensure excellent engagement, service, and effective succession planning continuity. Support the management of the site Profit and Loss (P&L) account for Erith business activities, ensuring the delivery of budgeted Profit Before Tax (PBT) performance while adhering to YLUK financial processes and procedures. Serve as the point of contact for customer inquiries outside of regular hours. Oversee facilities management for the site, including booking and organising ad hoc repairs and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM). Ensure adherence to safe control procedures for on-site contractors that align with YLUK policy. Ensure compliance with customer health and safety procedures, taking appropriate action if these procedures are not followed. Conduct all necessary equipment checks to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with all company procedures, including HR policies and standards of behaviour, and support investigations and disciplinary hearings when necessary. Maintain consistent adherence to 5S principles: Sort, Straighten, Standardise, Sustain, and Shine. Ensure that all company security procedures are followed at the Erith site. Effectively cascade all business communications to relevant staff members.



Key skills and experience


Proven experience overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations Relevant supervisory/management experience. Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices. Proficient in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Managing operational budgets and controlling warehouse-related costs. Experience in tracking and improving KPIs Strong experience in communicating directly with customers to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded Strong organisational skills and a detail-oriented approach. Ability to make decisions quickly and efficiently. Proficiency in IT, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
