Warehouse Operative

Job Description

Accurately pick, pack and ship orders ensuring that expectations, including quality and deadlines, are met with each delivery. Assist with other warehouse related work, including but not limited to stock counting, receiving deliveries, quality checking, piece-work and keeping the warehouse clean and tidy.



Duties and Responsibilities:

Pick, pack and ship Key orders, ensuring they are fulfilled accurately and within established timescales. Pick, pack and ship Independent orders, ensuring they are fulfilled accurately and within established timescales. Pick, pack and ship Web orders, ensuring they are fulfilled accurately and within established timescales. Pack subscription boxes by following company guidelines, making sure correct products are included and the quality of the box is of a high standard at all times Ensure orders are packed correctly within supplier guidelines and packing specifications, including but not limited to ensuring the relevant paperwork is included, the correct protective packing materials are used and the correct outer boxes are used. . Carry out accurate stock takes as instructed to ensure that all stock is accounted for and losses and errors are minimised. Correctly report damages and/or errors to ensure the smooth operation of the warehouse and reduce the risk of not meeting customer expectations. Keep the warehouse tidy at all times so that stock is never carelessly damaged and the health and safety of all staff and visitors is not compromised. To undertake basic production operations as required and instructed. To regularly review set KPI's, prepare regular activity reports and metrics and report directly to the Line Manager. To undertake ad hoc projects as required in order to meet the needs of the business. To contribute to process and systems development, through making suggestions and recommendations to the directors, in order to assist in the growth and success of the Company. To assist colleagues and to support the Company generally, through undertaking additional duties and tasks from time to time as and when required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:



Essential



Experience of using computers/mobile technology. Keen eye for detail. Motivation to learn and work to KPI benchmarks (and exceed them).

Desirable



Experience of working within a warehouse. Experience of working in a small business Knowledge and experience of using Project Management software. Experience of working with a WMS, Peoplevox favourable.

Skills, Abilities and Competencies:



Essential



Ability to work accurately under pressure. Good dexterity and able to carry out manual labour. Ability to work effectively independently and as a team player. Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and manage time effectively. Excellent communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and highly organised. Ability to work flexibly and to adapt to the needs of a small business. Reliability and willingness to work flexible hours as well as extra hours when necessary.
