Job Description

The Warehouse Operative will join the growing Warehouse Team to provide key assistance to the Business Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods within the warehouse. This role involves receiving and processing incoming stock, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and managing inventory alongside the Business Manager. The Warehouse Operative plays a vital role in maintaining the organisation and cleanliness of the warehouse, ensuring that operations run smoothly and effectively to support the overall goals of the company.

Responsibilities and Duties



Warehouse Support



Manage warehouse queries and tasks.

Receive deliverables of packaging stock, check quantities and store tidily.

Receive deliverables of bulk stock. Check quantities, record receipt and pass on paperwork to Business Manager.

Keep shelves restocked from bulk storage.

To work efficiently as part of the Warehouse Team to achieve targets as outlined by Business Manager.

Pick and pack customer orders to achievable agreed turn-around targets and using suitable packaging products.

Maintaining accurate warehouse records in compliance with company standards.

Assisting in preparing or circulating inventory reports.

To observe and comply with high levels of Health and Safety.

TO be adaptable and flexible in approach of work.

Liaise with colleagues across a variety of teams throughout Ulster Ceramics Pottery Supplies.

Other general warehouse duties as determined by business needs.

Kiln Servicing (Desirable):



Training to service and maintain kilns.

Ensuring kilns are operating efficiently and safely.

Assisting with kiln repairs and maintenance as needed.

Other duties:



Work closely with other departments to provide warehouse support as needed across the Ulster Ceramics Pottery Supplies Network.
Any other tasks as deemed by the Business Manager or CEO/General Manager.

Skills and Abilities



Good customer-focused approach.

Excellent IT literacy (including Word, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all work.

Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise tasks on own initiative, working to tight deadlines.

Good planning and organisational skills.

Good communication skills.

Flexibility to adapt to changing business and operating priorities.

Ability to manage and coordinate electronic records systems.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications



A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics.

Relevant qualification in warehouse operations or a related field is preferred.

Previous warehouse experience is advantageous, but not essential.

Experience of using a warehouse management system or database is advantageous, but not essential.

Experience working as part of a busy team.

Understanding of the requirements of GDPR, confidentiality of records, documents and information.
