The Warehouse Operative is responsible for carrying out tasks associated with the assembly of cardboard Point-of-Sale (POS) display units and performing general warehouse duties. The role requires adherence to operational, quality, and safety standards while working across a rotating or fixed shift pattern. The operative will work under the supervision of the Warehouse Team Leader or Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Assemble cardboard POS display units in accordance with specifications, build instructions, and production samples.
Ensure all assembled units meet required quality standards, including structural integrity, accuracy, and presentation.
Conduct basic adjustments or reworks of POS units as identified by the quality team.
Use hand tools (e.g., tape guns, cutting tools) in a safe and controlled manner.
Stack, wrap, and prepare completed POS units for storage or dispatch.
General Warehouse Operations
Pick, pack, and label stock items accurately based on picking lists or system instructions.
Load and unload goods from incoming and outgoing transport using correct manual handling procedures.
Support stock control activities, including stock rotation, replenishment, and periodic inventory counts.
Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks or trolleys (training will be provided).
Maintain clean, organised, and hazard-free work areas, ensuring compliance with company housekeeping and safety standards.
Report equipment faults, damaged stock, or safety hazards promptly to the Team Leader or Supervisor.
Compliance & Safety
Follow all company policies and procedures relating to warehouse operations, quality control, and health and safety.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Working Hours
The role operates on a three-shift system. Operatives may be assigned to a fixed shift or a rotating pattern depending on operational requirements.
Shift 1:
06:00 - 14:00
Shift 2:
14:00 - 22:00
Shift 3:
22:00 - 06:00
Role Requirements
Essential
Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Basic practical and assembly skills suitable for cardboard construction tasks.
Good attention to detail with the ability to identify quality defects.
Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks for extended periods.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
Reliable timekeeping and adherence to assigned shift schedules.
Desirable
Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or assembly environment.
Experience building POS displays or working with cardboard components.
Familiarity with basic warehouse equipment and manual handling best practices.
