Support the Preparation That Powers the Show

Whitespace Group is looking for a hands-on, detail-driven

Pick and Pack Warehouse Operative

to play a vital role in the preparation, accuracy, and readiness of our exhibition equipment. Working under the Pick and Pack Manager, and occasionally leading the team independently, you will ensure that all equipment is reviewed, packed, tracked, and delivered to meet the highest industry standards.

About Us

Whitespace Group is an award-winning exhibition design and production company based in South-West London. We create impactful custom and modular stands for events across the UK and worldwide. From creative concept to show-ready installation, our operational excellence is key to every project's success -- and the Pick and Pack team makes it all happen behind the scenes.

Role Overview

As

Pick and Pack Warehouse Operative,

you are a critical link in ensuring our exhibition builds are equipped with everything they need. You will review CADs and Job Packs, check for completeness, and prepare all components for transport. The role demands sharp attention to detail, solid communication, and the ability to manage workstreams when the Pick and Pack Manager is unavailable. This is a collaborative, active role working closely with Project Managers, Designers, and the Warehouse Team.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support & Team Coordination

Support daily operations by working closely with the Pick and Pack Manager and Warehouse Manager to prioritise and complete upcoming job preparations.

Project Review & Job Preparation

Review CADs and Job Packs to ensure all required elements are listed, prepared, and flagged if missing. Liaise with the Design and Stand Build Teams to clarify specifications, especially where complexities exist. Determine optimal packing approaches (e.g., upright trolleys, flat trolleys, pallets) in collaboration with the Operations Manager.

Hands-On Picking & Packing

Accurately pick and pack all component parts and stand elements for each job. Pre-build specific items and test materials (e.g., fabrics) when necessary. Ensure correct return of equipment post-event, inspecting for damage and maintaining quality control.

System Updates & Process Management

Maintain live updates within FileMaker on job status, packing progress, and stock availability. Keep all packing and storage areas organised, tidy, and compliant with safety standards. Monitor consumables and stock levels, and assist in reordering as required.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work with the Graphics and Production Manager, Custom Workshop team, and Warehouse to coordinate all job elements. Ensure all stand materials and visual components are loaded and ready in line with deadlines. Communicate effectively with Project Managers regarding delivery status and any issues affecting readiness.

Additional Responsibilities

Contribute to improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency and reducing packing errors. Promote best practices in quality control, cleanliness, and operational communication. Uphold health and safety standards across the Pick and Pack area. Support company-wide objectives related to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.

Education and Experience

Education:

GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths required. Vocational training or qualifications in warehouse/logistics preferred.

Experience:

1-2+ years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or event environment. Proven ability to follow and interpret CADs and technical job documentation. Previous exposure to team coordination or supervisory responsibilities is an advantage.
