About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Stores Operative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate booking in and out of all stock items, including sales and returns, ensuring exceptional stock control and efficient operations. You will also provide cover for delivery driving duties when required, ensuring timely and professional delivery of goods to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Control & Accuracy

Receive and inspect products, ensuring accuracy, quality, and no damage. Book products into the Autopart system accurately and promptly. Carry out daily perpetual stock checks to maintain high stock accuracy. Move and store products in the most efficient locations.

Order Processing & Logistics

Pick and prepare orders within specified timeframes for delivery runs. Assist in loading/unloading delivery vehicles using correct manual handling techniques. Ensure all inter-branch transfers (IBT) and customer back orders are up to date. Ensure all returns and old core stock are sent out weekly.

Driving Duties (As Required)

Safely and efficiently deliver goods to customers in company vehicles. Carry out pre-vehicle checks and maintain driving logs where required. Provide excellent customer service at delivery points. Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner on the road and at customer sites.

Reporting & Processes

Run and analyse stock and location reports. Clear all stock movements to branches and head office daily. Book in and locate all products on the day of arrival.

Financial Accuracy

Document all stock adjustments correctly. Ensure supplier returns, including old core stock, are processed weekly.

Teamwork & Compliance

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and Health & Safety at all times. Complete all required company training. Work collaboratively with the sales and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.

What We're Looking For

Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in stock control and warehouse operations (preferred but not essential). Full, valid UK driving licence. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
