Material Handler/Warehouse Operative -

Role Overview

The Material Handler/Warehouse Operative plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficient flow of materials and goods within the production environment. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that production operatives receive the necessary materials in a timely manner, thereby ensuring smooth production operations. The role encompasses a variety of tasks including loading and dispatching goods, unloading incoming deliveries, managing stock, and adhering to Health & Safety and BRC regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Providing the Production Operatives with Relevant Materials: Ensure that production lines are constantly supplied with the required materials to avoid any disruptions in the production process.

Loading and Dispatching Goods: Prepare and load goods for despatch, ensuring that all paperwork and labelling are completed accurately.

Unloading Incoming Deliveries: Unload deliveries promptly and safely, checking for accuracy against delivery notes and reporting any discrepancies.

Adhering to Health & Safety and BRC Regulations: Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and BRC standards to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.

Managing Stock: Maintain accurate stock levels, conduct regular stock checks, and ensure that stock is stored correctly and efficiently.

Reporting to Operations for Goods In/Out: Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding goods in and out, including labelling pallets and updating records.

Controlling Waste Items: Manage waste items such as cores, pallets, and recyclable materials, ensuring they are disposed of or recycled correctly.

Qualifications and Skills

Organisational Skills: Strong ability to organise tasks and prioritise workload to ensure efficient operations and maintain a tidy work area.

Ability to Work Under Pressure: Capable of managing time-sensitive tasks and working under pressure to meet production demands.

Initiative and Teamwork: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and collaboration skills.

Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, providing familiarity with warehouse operations and material handling.

Essential Requirements

Forklift Licence: A valid forklift licence is required for this role. Candidates with expired licences may negotiate renewal terms.
