We support customers that supply schools, restaurants, hospitals, and many of the UK's leading retailers - and now we're looking for a dedicated Shift Manager to lead night operations at our Bristol depot.

Sunday - Thursday, 22:00-06:00

As a

Shift Manager

, you'll play a vital role in the smooth running of our coldstore operations, ensuring that our stock moves efficiently and safely throughout the night. You'll be responsible for leading a team, managing resources, and delivering on performance targets.

Key Responsibilities:



Team Leadership & Engagement - Lead and motivate a team of operatives, creating a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance. Night Operations Management - Oversee end-to-end night operations including cross-docking, stock flow, and warehouse coordination. Planning & Resource Allocation - Develop nightly shift plans and assign duties to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks. Performance Monitoring - Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies before they become issues. Health, Safety & Compliance - Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Lead accident investigations and ensure all procedures are followed. Operational Reporting - Maintain accurate shift reports and provide regular feedback to site leadership. Cross-Shift Collaboration - Ensure smooth shift handovers and consistent performance across the 24-hour operation. Employee Development - Conduct regular reviews and coach your team to support growth and development.

What We're Looking For:



Proven experience in warehouse or coldstore operations, ideally with supervisory or shift management responsibilities. Strong understanding of warehouse safety, stock control, and team leadership. Proficient with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Clear communicator with the ability to engage and align teams. Calm under pressure, with a solution-focused mindset. Comfortable working in a coldstore environment (approx. -20C - PPE provided). A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. MHE licence is desirable but not essential.
