The Rack Group Ltd are looking for a candidate who is seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity in a past faced environment. The Warehouse Supervisor will report to the Sales & Operations Manager and be based at our Head Office in Barnsley, where they will lead and engage the warehouse team in efficient material preparation, goods in/out and and stock control systems. Core duties will include planning the workload of the warehouse and its team members ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met, while working in accordance with all safety regulations, and proactively promoting safety and wellbeing. Day to day resposilities include:

  • Coordinate team leaders to ensure that daily tasks are communicated and understood by all team members.
  • Ensure that operatives are fully trained to complete work safely and efficiently in accordance with specific RAMS, and PPE requirements.
  • Ensure smooth execution of procedures and computer systems, whilst actively monitoring and reviewing systems of work.
  • Ensure that stock levels are maintained and coordinate with sales and project delivery team on upcoming projects.
  • Oversee the manufacturing of rack barriers including production and stock levels.
  • Ensure that all warehouse vehicles are maintained and comply with current regulations.
  • Maintain a schedule of warehouse equipment checks/repairs, to include the FLT\xe2\x80\x99s, scissor lift and other required tooling.
  • Report all defects immediately and decomission any equipment unfit for use.
  • Ensure the warehouse environment is maintained to high standards for safety, storage efficiency and housekeeping.
  • Carry out continuous improvement training with team members, along with monthly toolbox talks.
  • Create and maintain auditable trails of documentation and measurable data using company databases.
  • Attend scheduled meetings to review departments KPI\xe2\x80\x99s.
Recognised challenges to incoming candidates include:
  • Developing an understanding of the company and the industry in which it operates, and the challenges that it faces from internal and external factors relating to projects.
  • Fluctuating and short lead times for required materials.
  • Develop knowledge of Business Central system and internal processes.
Performance measures include:
  • Building and maintainng effective working relationships.
  • Weekly/monthly reporting on KPI\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Meet or exceed expectations on delivery of warehouse projects.
  • Maintenance of auditable documentation trails.
  • Engagement with project delivery/sales team to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Demonstration of continuous improvement.
  • Continuously drive efficiencies and improve effectiveness throughout the warehouse and its team members.
  • Competency of internal systems, to include Business Central.
These duties are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the post holder may be called upon to perform such other appropriate duties as may be reasonably requested. Canidates must be willing to undertake further training to fulfill the requirements of the role and recognise that it is the joint responsibility of both the employee and employer to review H&S at work requirements.

Essential knowledge, qualifications & experience:
  • Supervisor or Team Leader Experience
  • Background in the warehouse industry
  • Knowledge of H&S regulations relevant to the industrial storage equipment industry.
  • FLT- Counterbalance certifications (current or expired)
  • Current valid driving license
  • Must be able to demonstrate th Right to Work in the UK
Desirable knowledge, qualifications & experience:
  • Knowledge and understanding of products, systems of work and construction basics within the industry.
  • SSSTS
  • IPAF
  • Health & Safety Qualification- Level 2
