JML are seeking an individual who is seeking to step into a shift team leader role whose background is from a warehouse environment. You will be working alongside warehouse operatives in our JML Direct Fulfilment Warehouse within the Port of Tyne, Tyne Dock. Your main responsibilities are fulfilling customer orders that have been placed via our website, resellers and mail order division, whilst having the managerial capability to support and assist the Warehouse Manager and Supervisors with the running of the Direct Fulfilment operation when required. You will need to be flexible with changing shift patterns covering annual leave as well as working overtime on a voluntary basis.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting the Warehouse Manager & Warehouse Supervisors with the day to day running of the operation
Provide holiday cover when required for Warehouse Manager or Warehouse Supervisors, including alternating shifts as and when required
Operating the various warehouse computer systems & software
Various admin duties including data input and email management
Stock control (stock & non-stock)
Forklift truck duties
Liaison with other departments within the business, such as Customer Services, and Operations Team.
Liaison with external companies such as Port of Tyne, DPD, Royal Mail etc
Picking & packing of customer orders
General warehouse duties and ad hoc duties as instructed by Warehouse Manager, Warehouse Supervisors or Head of Operations
Experience
Experience and knowledge of warehouse operations to be able to support the Warehouse Manager and Supervisors effectively in management and development of team members
A hands-on approach and the ability to prioritise workload as well as multi-tasking
Possess strong people management and communication skills as you will be communicating and delegating to team members to deliver great results
Have an excellent work ethic leading by example
Be able to demonstrate individual reliability and flexibility
Have an understanding and ability to apply warehouse health and safety regulations
Be able to demonstrate good computer literacy skills with experience of using Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
Forklift experience preferred but not essential as training can be provided
Willingness to develop and gain a relevant qualification is desirable
