To ensure the efficient and safe operation of the warehouse, ensuring that all goods are supplied when required on time and meet the required standard. To effectively communicate with the team setting expectation and providing training to meet the business needs. Ensure product safety, quality, and legality in accordance with company policies and procedures. To liaise with departments to best maximise resources by providing information and were possible cross train to assist the day to day running of the operation. The shift pattern for this role is 40 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday 22:00 -06:30.
Responsibilities
To lead the logistics team, ensuring the department runs safely and efficiently ensuring all production targets are met.
To maintain a high standard of hygiene in the warehouse and Trax packing areas.
To ensure continuous improvement in the logistics operations.
Daily WMS load checks to ensure loads are managed and completed in time order,
Stock level maintenance and stock improvements through team engagement.
To liaise with the Production team and transport teams to ensure all loads are correctly supplied.
Maintain a flexible approach and carry out any other related duties.
To ensure that all Company procedures are adhered to, and to ensure that all site personnel treat customers, suppliers, and other company employees in a polite and courteous manner.
Ensure that any machinery defects, near misses and accidents are reported correctly and promptly.
To work with the wider site team to reduce waste and work in a lean methodology.
To cover the supervisor when required in period of absence.
Achieve the business target OTIF (On Time in Full) measure by ensuring the correct quantity of stock is available and loaded to meet each order.
To cover absence and holidays of the morning shift team leader
Carry out any other reasonable requests to support the effective running of warehouse, including manually supporting the team with tasks as and when required.
Experience
Be flexible and have a positive approach.
Be able to motivate and lead a small team, effectively delegating workload.
Computer literate, numerate and self-motivated.
Strong communication skills
The ability to organise and prioritise workload.
The ability to handle varied workload and multitask.
Previous team leader experience and demonstrate understanding of leading a team.
