Overview

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling freight, operating forklifts safely, and supporting warehouse management activities. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, mechanical aptitude, manual handing, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Applicants should possess relevant experience and a valid forklift licence to ensure smooth operations and safety compliance.

Duties

Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring goods are correctly stored or dispatched Perform basic equipment repairs and maintenance checks on forklifts and other machinery Handle freight carefully, adhering to safety protocols during lifting and movement Support warehouse organisation by stacking and sorting Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and work areas to prevent accidents Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow efficiency and meet operational targets

Experience

Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting Knowledge of warehouse protocols Familiarity with freight handling techniques and shipping & receiving procedures Ability to perform basic maths for inventory counts and measurements Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts Previous warehouse experience demonstrating organisational skills and safety awareness
