Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator and become a vital part of our operation to help load and unload vehicles/ racking as required. The job will also require taking small plant on a trailer to and from sites around Yorkshire. Applicant will need a driving license and be over 25 years old for insurance purpose. The job also involves looking after installation teams with daily supplies and help maintain their small plant equipment.
Duties
Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, crane equipment, and other heavy machinery to load and unload shipments with precision.
Use RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick orders and update inventory records.
Handle materials safely using appropriate techniques for heavy lifting and materials handling equipment like pallet jacks.
Assist with shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments and ensuring proper documentation.
Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety standards are met in accordance with OSHA regulations.
Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate daily operations, prioritize tasks, and optimize workflow efficiency.
Support construction or warehouse expansion projects by operating specialized heavy equipment as needed.
Experience
Proven experience in warehouse distribution or logistics environments with a strong understanding of order picking and materials handling.
Prior experience operating forklifts, clamp trucks, cranes, or other heavy equipment is highly desirable.
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and inventory control procedures.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety protocols.
Mechanical knowledge or background in construction can be an asset for troubleshooting equipment issues.
Previous roles involving shipping & receiving, load & unload operations, or warehouse supervision are advantageous.
