We have an exciting role on offer within our Environmental Services Team as a Waste Operative 1 (Alley Cleansing).

About Us

Middlesbrough Council Recycling and Waste Services are looking for a Waste Operative to assist in keeping Middlesbrough clean. If you are looking for a career working outdoors and walking long distances and are able to carry out manual handling tasks.


You will have a responsibility for Collecting Recycling and Refuse waste from domestic and Council premises.


Removal of large items and cleansing of back alleys.


Ensure that Health and Safety Legislation is adhered to at all times.


The successful applicants will be required to work overtime as and when required including evenings, weekends and Bank Holiday Catch ups.


Please note the current working days are from Monday to Friday from 07:30 am - 15:30 pm.

Please note this is a fixed term post due to end on 31.03.2026
