Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Water Design Engineer
to join our dynamic design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and technical approval process of new water mains and service connections in line with Water Company and NAV (New Appointment and Variation) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed indicative and final water mains and service designs for new developments (residential, commercial, and mixed-use).
Submit and obtain design approvals from incumbent water companies and NAVs.
Liaise with internal teams, clients, local authorities, and statutory bodies to coordinate designs and approvals.
Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards
Monitor project timelines and ensure compliance with regulatory and company processes.
Provide technical support to other teams during project delivery and construction.
Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes and quality assurance.
Key Requirements
Proven experience in designing water networks and obtaining approvals from water companies and NAVs.
Strong understanding of WIRS processes, and current water sector legislation.
Proficiency in WaterCAD or other relevant hydraulic design software.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
Qualifications & Desirable Skills
Essential:
2 years experience in water network design approval processes.
Right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
CABWI Level 3 Diploma in Water Network Design
Working towards professional registration (e.g., EngTech, IEng) with the Institute of Water or similar.
