Job Title: Water Hygiene Technician (Environmental)

Job Purpose



To provide Legionella PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and associated environmental services across a range of commercial and industrial contracts, ensuring compliance with ACOP L8, BS6700, and the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations.

Key Responsibilities



Carry out water hygiene tasks including: Hot and cold water temperature monitoring Showerhead cleaning and disinfection Calorifier flushing, temperature checks, and internal inspections Water sampling and tank disinfection TMV testing Cooling tower cleaning and disinfection Dead-leg removal and system upgrades to comply with ACOP L8 Legionella risk assessments and routine monitoring Drawing schematics and completing job documentation Conduct inspections of water tanks, hot water boilers, and AC systems Proactively support contract growth by identifying opportunities for additional services Collaborate with other trades as needed Attend team meetings and provide reports on completed works Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with Dalkia's HSE policies

Working Relationships



Internal:



Work closely with Supervisors, Managers, and other technical colleagues.

External:



Liaise with clients, suppliers, and external contractors to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Person Specification



Essential Skills and Experience



Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and water hygiene standards Solid background in Legionella control, testing, and site monitoring Comfortable working in confined spaces and at height Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot issues Computer literate with experience using PDAs Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable



Experience in water sampling, pool plant systems, and HVAC environments Legionella Awareness certification Relevant Health & Safety training

Qualifications



Relevant qualifications in water hygiene, plumbing or environmental services Additional training in Legionella Risk Assessment or Health & Safety is advantageous
