Job Overview


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Watersport Instructors to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring students to achieve their full potential. As an Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering fun and safe learning by assisting in the preparation, organisation, delivery and running of activities for children and adult clients both on and off the water.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Operational responsibilities

Deliver safe, fun, engaging, and informative sessions.

Work as part of a team to set up, pack up, and proactively provide assistance to all clients using the equipment on the beach each day.

Check all kit after sessions - ensure any damaged kit is logged, and then either put into the sin bin and made note of or report to senior staff.

Make sure personal kit/uniform is taken care of - look presentable on and off the water

Reporting and recording any accidents to happen on the water and in and around the centre - using accident and near miss book accordingly.

Make sure VHFs (Swanpool site) are kept dry as much as possible, and maintained, washed, dried and put on charge after session each day, ready for the following day.

Ensure centre is kept tidy and clean.

Assist with/take on group leader role with visiting residential and other larger groups where necessary.

Team Responsibilities



Communicating well with other instructors and senior staff about day to day activities, which kit is being used and by who, timings, weather and what the client wants to achieve!

Filling out a daily activity report to reflect on daily activities.

If necessary, to be part of the office admin, taking bookings, card payments, updating booking system, taking phone calls and greeting clients and communicate appropriately with office staff about updates.

Secondary Responsibilities



These responsibilities are essential in a small business where all members of the team are required to work flexibly and help in all and any areas during busy periods

Employees will receive training for all areas included in their job description to ensure that they are capable, and feel confident, of performing both main and secondary responsibilities. It is the employee's responsibility to alert managers or colleagues to areas where they feel they require more training, or need the support of another member ofthe team, to undertake a specific task that may be new, or more challenging, for them.

Qualifications needed:



BC Level 1 coach award or new Paddlesport instructor or Paddlesports leader RYA Dinghy Instructor RYA start windsurfing instructor (NVBLQ) Beach Lifeguard award Powerboat level 2 RYA Min 8hr first aid qualifaction DBS check
