About the Role



We are seeking a motivated

Digital Communications and Events Officer

to join our department. This varied role combines digital content management, internal communications, graphic design, and event planning, all contributing to the success of our

EveryDaySafe

programme and wider safety initiatives.


Working across websites, newsletters, promotional materials and events, you'll ensure our messages are clear, accessible, and visually appealing - all while staying aligned with the University's brand and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Website and Digital Content



Upload and edit content on the department's website (Mosaic CMS), and support the migration to SharePoint (OxIntranet). Audit, update and manage web content for relevance and accuracy. Source appropriate images and ensure copyright compliance. Monitor web analytics and generate reports. Create and manage SharePoint sites for internal teams.

Design and Multimedia



Create simple graphics using tools like Canva and liaise with designers for complex projects. Develop digital promotional materials such as flyers and posters. Script, film, and edit short videos using Adobe Premiere Pro. Prepare high-quality PowerPoint presentations using best practices. Ensure brand consistency across all digital and print outputs.

Internal Communications



Lead production of the bi-monthly

Safety Network Newsletter

using Adestra. Curate engaging content from across the University, including coordinating guest editors. Manage distribution lists and analyse readership feedback.

Events and Campaigns



Coordinate the annual

Safety Network Conference

, including planning, registration (via Cvent), speaker liaison, materials production, and logistics. Support other key University events such as the People Conference and Professional Services Conference. Provide multimedia support for events, including filming and stand design.

Support for Wellbeing and Policy Roll-Out



Provide communications and IT support to the Wellbeing and Occupational Health teams. Assist with the biannual roll-out of health and safety policies - including proofreading, formatting, and distributing templates.

Administrative and Strategic Support



Manage internal communications channels including Sympa mailing lists. Contribute to the University's Cascade and Bulletin communications. Design and distribute surveys using Microsoft Forms. Actively support coordination groups and meetings with agenda planning and follow-ups. Stay updated on digital tools and best practices via internal IT training.

Essential Criteria



Experience working with CMS platforms (Mosaic and/or SharePoint). Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, PowerPoint, and email campaign tools (e.g. Adestra) Strong experience managing events.
