Job Summary


We are seeking a talented and innovative Web Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating visually engaging, user-friendly websites and digital interfaces that align with our brand identity and business objectives. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop responsive web solutions, optimise user experience, and ensure seamless website functionality. The successful applicant will possess a strong foundation in both creative design and front-end development, with a keen eye for detail and usability.

Responsibilities



Design and develop aesthetically appealing websites using modern web design principles, ensuring responsiveness across devices. Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups using tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Balsamiq, and Axure to communicate design concepts effectively. Implement interactive features and front-end functionalities employing HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, Vue.js, and AJAX. optimise websites for SEO best practices to improve visibility and search engine rankings. Maintain and update existing websites built on content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal, or SharePoint. Collaborate with developers to integrate back-end functionalities using PHP, Python, Node.js, SQL databases like MySQL or SQL Server. Conduct user research and usability testing to enhance user experience (UX) and information architecture. Utilise analytics tools such as Google Analytics to monitor website performance and implement data-driven improvements. Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards and usability principles while maintaining brand consistency. Keep abreast of industry trends in digital design, interaction design, UI/UX best practices, and emerging technologies.

Skills



Proficiency in digital design tools including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects), Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat. Strong knowledge of web development languages: HTML5, CSS3 (including SCSS/SASS), JavaScript (React, Angular, Redux), PHP, Python. Experience with responsive web design frameworks such as Bootstrap or Telerik. Familiarity with content management systems including WordPress, Drupal, SharePoint. Competence in wireframing and prototyping tools like Figma, InVision, Balsamiq. Understanding of UX/UI principles alongside information architecture and usability testing methodologies. Knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics for data analysis and optimisation purposes. Experience with version control systems like Git; familiarity with AJAX techniques; basic knowledge of VHDL or VHDL-like hardware description languages is a plus but not essential. Excellent visual communication skills combined with strong attention to detail; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
