Hunters Hall is a popular wedding venue in Swanton Morley near Dereham and we are looking for a passionate, friendly and adaptable
Wedding and Events Manager
to join our team.
This is both an office based and practical role, assisting couples with planning their wedding with us and then also being a part of their day. As well as supporting the owners and working alongside our other Wedding and Events Manager and the management team, you will help oversee the function department and carry out administrative duties.
The position is based on 37 hours however this could vary between 30-50 hours per week based on business needs. The majority of days will be office hours however they could be any 7 days including weekends, evenings, late nights and overnight stays after a function. Rotas will be issued in advance, with 1 weekend off per month on average
Your annual wage is expected to be between 25,000 and 30,000 depending on experience and business demands. There is a pension scheme available, and you will be entitled to 28 days holiday pro rata (including bank holidays).
Experience in hospitality is required, along with a keen interest in weddings and organising events. This role may suit somebody looking for their next step. Full support will be given by the owners and other senior team members.
Due to our location, your own transport is required. Free onsite parking is provided.
Tasks included in the Wedding and Event Manager role are:
Office:
- Being a first point of contact for our guests
- Replying to wedding enquiries via email and telephone and keeping accurate records
- Keeping spreadsheets up to date
- Arranging all appointments to the venue
- Showing potential couples around the venue
- Creating and sending out quotes and invoices
- Processing all payments and refunds within the office
- Managing office payment paperwork
- Conducting appointments with our couples to discuss all details of their day
- Checking and processing ceremony seating plans, wedding breakfast seating plans and bedroom allocation forms
- Checking guests into bedrooms including taking payments
- Working evenings and weekends as needed
Practical:
- Assisting with the preparation of and running of the wedding in various capacities
- Leading the team and assisting with function preparation
- Being the main point of contact for the couple when they arrive for their wedding
- Taking care of wedding guests
- Liaising with all suppliers arriving and also the registrars
- Maintaining contact with all departments
- Overseeing food service, drinks and toasts
- Assisting with turning around the venue
- Keeping to all timings
- Meeting guest expectations throughout the day and evening

- Have a keen interest in weddings and organising events
- Be confident with a positive approach to work
- Be proficient in excel and word
- Be self motivated
- Be confident with wedding couples and guests
- Have a desire to run weddings and be part of a couple's special day
