The Role


We are seeking a dynamic Weddings & Events Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for executing successful weddings and events in a fast paced and beautiful location.

The Weddings and Events Manager at Shilstone House will be responsible for managing and delivering exceptional events, from concept to execution. Acting as the primary liaison for clients, vendors, and internal teams, this role requires an individual who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating memorable experiences. The Private Events Manager will report to the Directors and play a critical role in supporting the house's reputation for bespoke and high-quality events.

Main Duties:



Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of private events, ensuring all aspects align with Shilstone House's high standards.

Manage event logistics, including kitchen teams, staff scheduling, creating contacts, and vendor coordination.

Generate weekly reports on upcoming private events and distribute them to the team

Management of our event booking software Hostology insuring all information is correct and up-to-date

Develop client proposals, contracts, and event briefs, ensuring clear communication of requirements and expectations.

Collaborate with clients to tailor events to their unique visions, including weddings, corporate gatherings, and special occasions.

Conduct site visits and pre-event walkthroughs with clients to finalize arrangements and confirm details.

Oversee the creation and distribution of event documentation.

Build and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers, partners, and the surrounding community to enhance offerings.

Recruit, onboard, and train event staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to Shilstone House's values and standards.

Maintain an organized system for storing event contracts, invoices, and other relevant documentation.

Act as the on-site leader during events, ensuring smooth operations and resolving any issues promptly.

Provide post-event follow-up with clients, addressing feedback and ensuring long-term satisfaction.

Attend regular team and departmental meetings to align with organizational goals and initiatives.

Develop and maintain a database of potential clients, vendors, and creatives in the region to support future event growth.

Support cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and kitchen, to ensure cohesive execution of events.

Regular checks of the site insuring everything for events in in place and ascetically correct highlight any issues with estate manager

The ideal candidate will have:

A strong background in hospitality, excellent organisational skills and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

A high level of attention to detail and resilience when working under pressure.

The ability to work well with others.

Excellent verbal communication skills and a professional manner.

: 30,000 - 35,000 per annum

Average Hours

: 37.5 hours per week average including weekends and evening work.
