We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations. This role requires strong communication skills and a good understanding of vehicle maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of our delivery services.
Responsibilities
Safely operate a van or lorry to deliver goods to designated locations.
Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling and care of products.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time, location, and any issues encountered.
Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
Provide basic mechanical knowledge to identify potential vehicle issues and report them promptly.
Assist in warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and organisation.
Experience
Previous experience as a van driver or delivery driver is preferred.
Familiarity with flatbed driving is an advantage.
A valid commercial driving licence is required.
Experience in a warehouse environment is beneficial but not mandatory.
Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with team members and customers.
A proactive attitude towards safety and vehicle maintenance is crucial for this role.
