Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and reliable weekend Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Experience of commercial driving is highly desirable, along with a strong commitment to customer service and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

Safely operate lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to specified locations Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and safety standards are met Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered on route Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during driving operations

Requirements

Valid driving licence suitable for commercial vehicles, with a clean driving record Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role, preferably with flatbed experience Strong knowledge of road networks and route planning within the local area and beyond Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as loading and unloading goods when necessary Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and safety procedures Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings or late shifts as required
