Position
: Laundry/Ironing Assistant
Responsible to:
Care Manager
Purpose of position:
To look after residents clothes by washing, drying, ironing, repairing and naming.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Washing of garments is on-going.
2. Soak stained items.
3. Check items can be put into the dryer.
4. Iron garments and bedding.
5. Put ironing away in appropriate place, making sure resident items are put in the correct room.
Person Specification - Essential Criteria
1. Self motivated.
2. Organised.
3. Flexible.
4. Sensitive to the needs of the residents.
5. Able to work on own initiative.
6. A good communicator.
All staff are required to respect the confidentiality of all matters that they might learn in the course of their employment. All staff are expected to respect the requirements under the
Data Protection Act 2018.
All staff must ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities under the
Health and Safety at Work, etc Act 1974.
Training
You will be required to carry out mandatory training within a certain time scale.
