to join our team at the Dedham Tea Rooms - a thriving, independent coffee shop and tearoom at the heart of Dedham. With exciting changes underway, including new fixtures, fittings, a refreshed menu, and the launch of events and alcohol service, this is the perfect time for the right individual to step in and play a vital role in our growth.
This is not a role for someone who simply wants to open and close the shop - we are looking for a true leader who is ready to take charge, support staff, and help customers enjoy the best possible experience.
What the role involves
Leading the weekend team, ensuring smooth daily operations
Supporting and motivating staff to deliver excellent customer service
Handling customer feedback and complaints calmly and professionally
Managing a digital till system and adapting to new processes as the business evolves
Communicating clearly with staff, upper management, and the director
Upholding high standards across service, presentation, and efficiency
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality, retail, or customer service
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to handle pressure with confidence and clarity
A proactive and solution-focused mindset
Someone who wants to contribute to the growth of the business, not just collect a paycheck
Desirable
Barista training or strong coffee knowledge (training can be provided if required)
Previous experience in cafes, coffee shops, or restaurants
A passion for customer service and creating memorable experiences
What we offer
Competitive pay based on experience
Barista training provided if needed
You will gain an alcohol licence
The chance to be part of an exciting new chapter at the Dedham Tea Rooms, including new menus, events, and licensing
A supportive, close-knit team environment
The opportunity to grow with a business that is continuously evolving
If you are a strong communicator, thrive under pressure, and are passionate about both people and service, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today with your CV and tell us about your previous leadership experience, especially how you've handled responsibility, managed staff, and supported customers.
