We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in their own homes. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their wellbeing. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives and have experience in dementia and elderly care. Working hours are between 7.30am-9pm with breaks in the day between morning, lunch and evening calls. Hours can be discussed at interview.
All clients are based within bexhill... no long travelling between different towns. Travel time is 15 mins between each client and travel time is paid aswell as mileage paid.
Duties
Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and physical wellbeing
Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases involving dementia or Alzheimer's care
Assist with mobility and transfer support, including heavy lifting when necessary
Drive clients to appointments or social outings safely and responsibly
Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when required
Experience
Prior experience in supporting the eldery either in domicilary, nursing/care homes is highly desirable
Knowledge of patient care practices, including working with dementia, Alzheimer's, end of life care, disabilities
Experience with medication administration and behaviour management techniques
Familiarity with caregiving responsibilities such as meal preparation and light housekeeping
Valid driving licence is essential
Previous training or certification in first aid is beneficial but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely and use manual handling equipment and effectively manage challenging behaviours
