Wirral Ark is looking for a Weekend Support Worker for our dispersed accommodation centre's Grand Trunk, Hilltops, Waterview and Ark Angel houses, the role is dedicated to assist in the provision of effective, high quality support services to vulnerable, homeless men and women who may have needs such as offending behaviour, substance misuse problems, mental health issues and who are vulnerable to rough sleeping, with the aim of promoting independent living. The role is to support clients over the weekend traveling between sites to check the buildings and residents are safe and any problems are dealt with promptly.

Duties:
Support Planning and Risk Assessing
To ensure that all voids are prepared and re-let in a timely fashion.
To maximise income receivable from rents and service charges.
Ensure that clients have a full understanding of their rights and responsibilities during their stay.
Support clients to abide by the terms in their licence agreement taking appropriate action when it has been breeched.
Conduct regular building and room checks and support clients in the management of their room and relationships with others, reporting any health and safety issues to the appropriate manager.
Participate in the planning and delivery of activities.
Support claims on behalf of clients for housing and other welfare benefits.
Provide information and advice to clients in accordance with their support plans.
Motivate and challenge clients so they realise their goals.

Assist with securing permanent move-on to appropriate accommodation.
Liaise between clients and external agencies regarding the provision of specialised support when appropriate.
Encourage involvement and participation among clients in the running and shaping of the service provided by planning and attending regular member meetings.
Deal promptly with all complaints and protection from abuse disclosures.
Provide clear, accurate and good quality information in respect of all clients in line with agreed procedures ensuring that appropriate information is shared with the line managers.
Demonstrate creativity in overcoming obstacles and a commitment to working with and providing support to vulnerable people.
Health and Safety
Take responsibility for the place of work in terms of cleanliness, tidiness, maintenance, repairs, signage and culture.
Liaise with Emergency Services; Fire, Police and Medical.
Liaise with the hostel workers and Stone Management group to pick up issues that have been called in to the out of hours support service.
Allow contractors access to the building to carry out essential repairs.
Ensure at all times the safety of yourself and others on the premises in which you work.
Conduct routine Health & Safety inspections throughout the building.
To report incidents, in line with Wirral Ark license agreement, to tackle any nuisance caused by clients' behaviour or their visitors.
Adhere to clients' checks, handover and incident processes
Ensure that all communal and work areas are clean and tidy.
Teamwork
Attend to all enquiries and pass messages onto relevant people.
Develop excellent and robust relationships, protocols, contacts and service level agreements with referring agencies, statutory services and wider stakeholder
Contribute to the formulation of policy and procedures in relation to support services.
Attend and participate in regular team meetings to ensure good communication.
Work closely and support the Repairs and Maintenance Officer to ensure building repairs, maintenance is carried in a timely fashion.
Consult and work in unison with your colleagues to ensure harmony and consistency of approach, especially when confronted with difficult situations and decisions.

Relationships
The post holder will be required to have contact with a variety of people during the course of their work. The context of this contact will vary from formal 'Key working' to informal networking and relationship building with the Local Authority and other relevant agencies.
Annual appraisal and regular work review with line managers is an operational requirement, as is attendance at support workers team meetings.
It is recognised that Wirral Ark is operating in a dynamic environment and as such this job description may be varied in consultation with the post holder to reflect evolving needs of the business and changing nature of the job
Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate party.
Monitor security camera footage and report any suspicious activity.
Answer phones and provide information to visitors.
Perform surveillance and security checks on vehicles.
Monitor security equipment and report any malfunctions.
Perform routine maintenance on security equipment. (Audio Video, Door Entry, etc.)
Monitor security equipment during times of high activity to ensure it is functioning properly and safely. (i.e. events, emergencies, etc.)
Assist in maintaining security equipment in good condition by performing preventative maintenance on the equipment and performing minor repairs as needed. (i.e. replacing batteries, adjusting dials, replacing broken switches etc.)
Assist in training new employees on safety procedures, security procedures, and procedures for emergency situations. (i.e. fire, earthquake, terrorist attacks etc.)
