Weighbridge & Forklift Operator

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Weighbridge & Forklift Operator at our recycling centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the weighbridge, loading and unloading customers and suppliers using a forklift, and performing manual handling tasks. Additionally, the role involves processing and cleaning non-ferrous metals.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate the weighbridge, recording all vehicles & weights entering/leaving the site.

Record weights & material type by grade and complete appropriate documentation.

Comply with Waste Management, Scrap Metal Merchant & Operators licensing guidelines.

Deal with members of the public and businesses both in person and via telephone/email, providing high-quality customer service.

Communicate and actively support members of the team throughout the day.

Raise purchase tickets, manually input data, utilise programmes such as Microsoft Office and bespoke weighing software (training provided), and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role and environment is desirable but not essential.

Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.

Ability to operate a forklift for loading and unloading tasks.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks simultaneously.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
